Meet Christian
Christian Mapes is an Omaha native with deep roots in energy markets and public service. As a West Point graduate and former Army Ranger, Christian brings proven leadership experience from high-stakes environments.
Following his military service, Christian transitioned into the energy sector, where he has spent the past five years specializing in energy markets, demand response programs, and grid optimization. Currently serving as Director of Power Markets, he has extensive experience working across multiple energy markets, including SPP, MISO, ERCOT, and PJM.
His work has helped utilities and large energy users decrease costs and improve efficiencies. Christian holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Systems Design and Management from West Point, with concentrations in Logistics Management and Soft Systems. Additionally, he is certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.
Christian lives in Bennington with his family, including two young children and their French Mastiff. When not focused on energy markets, he enjoys outdoor activities with his family.
